The Altone local area is located in the south west area of the City of Swan and includes the suburbs of Bennett Springs, Beechboro, Kiara, Lockridge and parts of Caversham and Whiteman.

Cullacabardee defines the Ballajura boundaries to the north, Whiteman Park to the east, Malaga industrial area to the south, and Alexander Heights and the Koondoola Regional Bushland to the west.

The local area is bound by the Shire of Chittering in the north, the Gidgegannup local area and Walyunga National Park to the east, Maralla Road to the south, and Gnangara, Melaleuca and Muchea south road to the west.

Located in the western portion of the City of Swan, the Ellenbrook local area includes the suburbs of Ellenbrook, The Vines, and Aveley.

The Gidgegannup local area includes the suburbs of Gidgegannup and Red Hill, and Avon Valley National Park to the north.

The area includes the established suburbs of Guildford and Hazelmere, the growing suburb of South Guildford, the younger suburb of Bushmead, and parts of Perth Airport.

Malaga is the largest employment area within the City of Swan and the second largest industrial centre of employment in Western Australia.

The Midland local area comprises the localities of Midland, Viveash, Woodbridge, Midvale (part – within the City of Swan), Bellevue, Koongamia, and Middle Swan (part – south of the Roe Highway).

The Swan Valley local area encompasses the suburbs of Belhus, Henley Brook, Herne Hill, Millendon, and parts of Guildford, Upper Swan, Brigadoon, Baskerville Middle Swan, West Swan and Caversham.

The Upper Swan local area encompasses the suburbs of Upper Swan and Brigadoon, the southern portion of Bullsbrook, a small portion of Baskerville on the eastern side and the entirety of Walyunga National Park.

The local area is comprised of five distinct suburbs: Caversham (south of Reid Highway), Bennett Springs (to the west of Drumpellier Drive), Dayton (north of Reid Highway and east of Drumpellier Drive), Brabham, Henley Brook (in the north).
