Midland is recognized as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre in Perth's eastern corridor, offering residents excellent benefits like proximity to the Swan Valley, public transport via METRONET, and abundant services including major retail and health facilities.

The suburb is transforming into a vibrant and growing economic hub anchored by the massive urban renewal of the historic Railway Workshops, which is being converted into a major health, education, and commercial precinct. This significant public and private investment, including the "New Junction" redevelopment, is diversifying the local economy into high-growth sectors, creating hundreds of new jobs, and revitalizing the town center to attract more businesses and residents.

The Midland Local Area Plan

Local area planning involves consultation between community members and the City, identifying issues and prioritising the needs of their local area.

Local Area Plans (LAPS) provide the opportunity to recognise the character and needs of our diverse communities, and consolidate current or planned strategies and actions to address these.

Read your Local Area Plan

The plan highlights the priorities of the community identified during the consultation period. It also creates a roadmap for the City to plan for and deliver outcomes that meet the aspirations and needs of the community.
