What is changing?

To modify the scheme text and map to make ‘Car Park’ an Additional Use capable of being assessed on its discretionary (‘D’) merits on Lot 6 (No.2) Tanner Street, Middle Swan. Conditions are also proposed. In summary, the conditions restrict the use of the land for parking to operations at the adjoining Lot 7, limit access to be only off Tanner Street, and set out requirements for landscaping.

Motivation

The Applicant seeks to facilitate the formal use of vacant Lot 6 Tanner Street, Middle Swan for customer parking for The Corner Butcher at Lot 7 (No.46) Great Northern Highway, Middle Swan next door (which is in associated ownership and is north of the subject land).

What this proposal is considering is the merits of allowing ‘Car Park’ on the subject site, where currently it must be refused. The specifics of its layout and design are not being finalised now, rather this will be the subject of a future development application, which would need to be lodged and assessed if this scheme amendment is ultimately approved
