The Urban Road Safety Program (URSP) is a program that involves installing road safety treatments on local roads to reduce the likelihood of fatal and serious injury crashes on local roads.

MRWA funding is available for the City to install various safety treatment devices such as mini-roundabouts, raised safety platforms and mid-block plateaus to reduce the risks for drivers and vulnerable road users.

The City is proposing the installation of safety treatments at the following locations:

  • Intersections along Sayer Street, Midland
  • Intersections along Hamersley Street, Midland
  • Along John Street, Midland
  • Along Muriel Street, Midland
  • Along Frederic Street, Midland.

These treatments will improve safety by reducing vehicle speeds.

At this stage, construction of these projects is scheduled to occur in the 2025/26 financial year. However, timeframes are subject to change and the City will keep all affected residents informed about any upcoming works.

Community feedback was sought between April, 2024 - May 2024.
