The City of Swan is developing a new Tourism Plan to set the strategic direction for tourism in the region from 2025/26–2029/30. With tourism playing a significant role in the local economy, this plan will provide clear guidance for tourism development, industry collaboration, and investment in visitor experiences. The City is also concurrently working on a Tourism Marketing Plan.

There will be two phases of engagement:

Phase one: Gathering input from internal and external stakeholders (key Industry stakeholders, businesses and peak bodies) to shape the plan’s recommendations.

Phase two: Seeking responses on the drafted plan before finalisation. Open to whole community and stakeholders engaged in phase one.

The previous City Tourism Plan was created in 2015, and since then annual updates have provided a priority action list and guided the City's tourism initiatives.

With the adoption of the Economic Development Strategy (2024) and a post-pandemic tourism recovery underway, this is a timely opportunity to review priorities and establish a comprehensive Tourism Plan for the next four years. A new Tourism Plan is now also required to be developed, to align with the Western Australian Governments new Destination Perth – Tourism Development Management Plan.

The plan is scheduled for completion by August 2025.

The City would very much like your feedback via the form below, to help us identify the priorities and recommendations for the Tourism Plan.

Please read the Background Report for further context and information

Phase one of the engagement will be open from Monday, 7 April - Monday, 28 April.
