The City has opened a public notice period for a proposed local law that sets out the rules for how waste services work in the City and what residents, businesses and builders need to do when using waste services.

Public notice Proposed Waste Local Law 2026

The City of Swan proposes to make the City of Swan Waste Local Law 2026 in accordance with section 3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995.

The purpose of this local law is to provide for the regulation, control and management of waste services, including the use and control of receptacles for the deposit and collection of waste, conducted by or on behalf of the City of Swan.

The effect of this local law is to ensure sufficient provision of regulation, control and management of waste services.

To have your say on the proposed local law, send a submission to the CEO by Monday, July 6, 2026.

By providing your submission, you acknowledge that the City of Swan will publish your suburb and submission in the Schedule of Submissions within the publicly available agenda and minutes for the August 12, 2026, Ordinary Council Meeting. The City of Swan will provide you with updates on the progress of the proposed local law and its adoption via email.
