The City has received the abovementioned proposal for consideration.
The application seeks approval for a proposed ‘Animal Establishment’ at Lot 50 (No.217) Copley Road, Upper Swan. The animal establishment will accommodate a dog kennel for dogs (golden retrievers) during breeding season. Details of the proposal are as follows:
- 3 unsterilised female dogs to be kept on the premises.
- The kennel will be used for up to 24 weeks per year; approximately 2 months with the pregnant dogs on the property, and 8-12 weeks with puppies on the property.
- Up to two litters per year.
- Puppies to be sold individually over a 4-week period with an average of 2-3 visitors per week over this time.
- Kennel to be constructed close to the main house, setback 370m from the front of the property, 46m from the eastern boundary, and 65m from the western boundary.
Prior to Council giving consideration to the proposal, comments from surrounding owners are sought.
