The City has received an application seeking approval for an ‘Unhosted Short-Term Rental Accomodation’ at Lot 198 (No. 346) Shady Hills View, Bullsbrook. The lot is zoned 'Rural' under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and 'Rural Residential' under the City's Local Planning Scheme No.17. Details of the proposal are as follow:
- A self-contained unit that includes cooking facilities, bathroom facilities and separate living and sleeping areas
- Intended to provide guest accomodations for periods exceeding a total of threemonths in any 12- month period
- Capable of accomodating up to six people per night
In accordance with the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.17, an ‘Unhosted Short- Term Rental Accommodation’ is an ‘A’ use (in the 'Rural Residential' zone) which means the use is not permitted unless the local government has exercised its discretion by granting planning approval only after seeking comments from nearby landowners/occupiers who have the potential to be impacted by this proposal pursuant to '9.4 Advertising of Applications'.
