Thank you for your feedback

Thank you to everyone who participated in the community engagement for the proposed relocation of the Gidgegannup Skate Park within the Gidgegannup Showgrounds.

Engagement was undertaken between 17 November and 8 December 2025 and included a range of online and face-to-face opportunities for the community and stakeholder groups to provide feedback.

The Skate Park remains part of future planning and will be reinstalled when funding becomes available. City budget allocations is determined in line with overall priorities and takes into account the impacts of cost inflation. We anticipate the skate park will be reinstalled in the 27/28 Financial Year.

Community Participation

The engagement reached a broad cross-section of the community, including local residents, young people, sporting and equestrian groups and community groups.

What happens next

At this stage, no final decision has been made on the preferred location for the relocated skate park. Additional investigations are still required, including consideration of safety, access, environmental constraints and impacts on existing Showgrounds activities.

The community will continue to be updated as the project progresses and once further investigations have been completed. We anticipate a decision in mid-2026.
