The Ellenbrook Town Centre Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan will be implemented when new developments are proposed and the required number of parking bays cannot be provided on the site.
In this instance the City can accept payment in lieu when it is not possible for developers to provide parking or enough parking bays (please note this refers to new developments where adequate number of parking bays are not provided, not developers taking existing bays away).
The Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan is required by the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and guides how any money collected in lieu of parking can be spent.
The draft plan outlines what money can be used for which includes construction and upgrades to existing pedestrian and bike infrastructure, provision of shade trees and streetscape improvements, and more (further information can be found in the draft plan or the FAQs below).
Please note this plan only applies to new development proposals and cannot be applied to past developments.
This consultation has closed. Updates to the project will be posted on this page.
