The City has received an application for a proposed ‘Rural Industry’ at Lot 2435 (No.21) Savy Close, Bullsbrook. In accordance with the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.17, a ‘Rural Industry’ is defined as:
“industry - rural” means —
a) an industry handling, treating, processing or packing rural products; or
b) a workshop servicing plant or equipment used for rural purposes;
The details of the proposal are as follows:
- Proposed use of rural industry in the eastern part of the site involving the servicing and/or repair of plant and equipment (including agricultural trucks) for rural purposes;
- Construction of dome structure using sea containers to be used for workshop/storage;
- The existing building on the site will be retained and used to support the business operations providing an administration area, storage space, and toilet facilities for staff
- Construction of recycled road base hardstand area for the turning, parking and servicing of plant and equipment;
- Stormwater runoff will be directed to a drainage basin;
- Delivery and departure of vehicles occurs a maximum of once per day, with spare parts/supplies obtained weekly;
- Staff will collect plant/machinery and vehicles for servicing and repair and deliver to the site;
- Vehicle access to the subject site will be via Savy Close and/or Cunningham Road;
- A maximum of three (3) permanent staff are involved in day-to-day operations;
- Hours of operation are Monday to Friday - 7am to 6pm & Saturday 7am to 1pm. No operations are proposed on Sundays or public holidays; and
- No vegetation removal is required.
