The City is seeking comments on an application to change the use of the properties at 40, 42 & 44 Coolamon Boulevard to an ‘Education Establishment’ (Private Secondary School). An Educational Establishment is a Discretionary use in Special Use Zone 4 and requires planning approval under the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme 17.
Details of the proposal are as follows:
- Operating hours 9:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Saturday;
- Educational establishment will cater for students in years 9 to 12;
- Establishment will accommodate a maximum of 110 students and 16 staff, however, it has been advised that the attendance rates are between 60 – 70% across the other operating campuses, with a similar number expected from this establishment;
- As per City of Swan’s Policy ‘POL-TP-129’ Vehicle Parking Standards, 21 parking bays are required onsite
- A total of 7 onsite parking bays are proposed, resulting in a shortfall of 14 bays. This is not inclusive of the shared common property bays within the centre of the site;
- Accompanying this development application is a Transport Impact Statement.
