The City is assessing a development application for a Proposed Workshop for the City of Swan’s Operation Centre at Lot 5 (No.212) Great Northern Highway, Middle Swan.

The land is zoned ‘Residential Redevelopment’ under the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme No.17 with existing uses such as “Civic Use”, “General Industry” and “Office” uses existing onsite and operating prior to the rezoning of the land to ‘Residential Redevelopment’.

In accordance with the City’s Scheme, advertising is required as the works constitute an extension to the Non-Conforming use of the Council’s depot land for “General Industry”.

Details of the proposal are as follows:

  • Proposed outbuilding measures 20.39m width by 44.81m length with a total roof height of 9.845m and total area of 913.67m²;
  • The outbuilding will accommodate a fabrication workshop, construction and maintenance workshop, storerooms, communications room, spray booth, compressor room, two offices, a break room, two universal access toilets (UATs) and additional storage areas;
  • No additional employees or visitors are proposed; and
  • 10 existing trees to be removed along the boundary.

Prior to the determination of the application, the City wishes to formally invite you to provide a submission on the proposal.
