The City has received a Development Application seeking approval for the alteration and expansion of the existing dam at 165) Reen Road, Gidgegannup.
The application details the following:
- The proposed dam modification works will necessitate the clearing of no more than 0.25ha of native and non-native vegetation
- To achieve a net positive environmental outcome from the dam’s expansion, the revegetation of approximately 0.59ha of is proposed as a component of the works within the subject site
- The proposed dam extension of approximately 70m westward
- The purpose of the development is to enhance the dam’s existing function as a water source for livestock, native animals, and firefighting during emergencies, as well as to meet potential future residential needs.
The proposal has been identified as a Moderate Impact Dam and has therefore been advertised to all neighbouring properties within a 200m radius.
