The City has received an application for a proposed Grouped Dwelling at 20 Meechin Way Beechboro. The application seeks approval to construct a second dwelling on the lot while retaining the existing house.
The applicant is seeking approval to vary the permitted “as of right” provisions of the Residential Design Codes (R-Codes). The proposal includes the following departures:
Site works and retaining walls (Clause 3.5 of the R-Codes):
- Retaining within the front setback area proposed at 1.2m high in lieu of the 0.5m permitted as of right.
- Retaining behind the street setback proposed at 1.2m high in lieu of the 1m permitted as of right.
Accordingly, the application will be assessed against the relevant design principles of the R-Codes.
