The City has received an application for a proposed Grouped Dwelling at 20 Meechin Way Beechboro. The application seeks approval to construct a second dwelling on the lot while retaining the existing house.


The applicant is seeking approval to vary the permitted “as of right” provisions of the Residential Design Codes (R-Codes). The proposal includes the following departures:


Site works and retaining walls (Clause 3.5 of the R-Codes):

  • Retaining within the front setback area proposed at 1.2m high in lieu of the 0.5m permitted as of right.
  • Retaining behind the street setback proposed at 1.2m high in lieu of the 1m permitted as of right.
  • Accordingly, the application will be assessed against the relevant design principles of the R-Codes.


    The City invites your comments on the proposed variations as an affected landowner.
