The City has received a development application for separate carport and patio structures to be located at 1 Ashby Terrace, Viveash.
The carport is proposed to be connected to the house above the driveway, measuring 6.4 metres long, and 5.6 metres wide.
The patio is proposed to be located within the property on the eastern side of the property adjacent to Cranwood Crescent. The patio is proposed to be 1.2 metres wide and 13.1 metres long.
Variations has been identified for the carport in relation to the deemed-to-comply requirements of the Residential Design Codes as follows:
5.2.1 – Setback of Carports and Garages.
- The carport will be set back 2.6 metres from the street boundary instead of the 6-metre requirement.
5.1.3 – Lot Boundary Setbacks.
- The carport will be set back 0.5 metres from the western boundary instead of the 1 metre requirement.
The City is therefore conducting a merit-based assessment against the design principles due to the above variations. The City is seeking feedback from surrounding landowners.
