The City has received a development application for two carports to be located on Lot 1085 (No.4) Pucas Court, Beechboro.
The applicant is proposing for both structures to be located within the front street setback area in front of the dwelling in variation to the as-of-right requirements of the Residential Design Codes - 5.2.1 Setback of Carports & Garages:
- 0.2 metre and 2 metres setbacks are proposed for western (caravan) and eastern (driveway) carports respectively from the front boundary in lieu of the 6-metre requirement for R20/50 zoned land.
An additional variation is sought in relation to the western side setback of the proposed caravan carport against the as-of-right requirements of the Residential Design Codes - 5.1.3 Lot Boundary Setbacks.
- A 0.25 metre setback in lieu of the 1-metre setback requirement is proposed.
The City is therefore conducting alternative merit-based assessments against the design principles due to the above variations in front and side setbacks and seeks feedback in relation to the proposed variations from affected landowners.
