You are invited to provide comments on the above planning application prior to the City of Swan’s consideration of the proposal.


The development application seeks approval for the construction of a new telecommunications facility at Lot 6 Adelaide Street, Hazelmere WA 6055.


The proposed facility will be owned by Indara and will host Optus telecommunications equipment to provide 4G and 5G services to existing and emerging Optus customers within the north of the Madia Vale area.


The proposal includes the following:

  • One (1) Indara monopole tower with 28.3 metre overall height (including the attachments);
  • Three (3) new panel antennas (for 4G and 5G services);
  • The pole diameter is 1200mm at base tapered to 750mm at the top of the pole.
  • One (1) two-bay outdoor equipment cabinet at ground level;
  • Ancillary equipment required for the operation and safety of the facility, including remote radio units, underground conduits, cabling and antenna mounts, group meter panel, security fencing, and other associated infrastructure;
  • A 14m x 6m fenced compound enclosing the facility and equipment.


The proposed telecommunications facility will be located within the existing driveway and will have a front setback of 5.47 metres, a nil setback from the northern boundary, and a 13.63-metre setback from the southern boundary.


The monopole and associated equipment will be finished in pale grey, while the equipment cabinet will be finished in pale eucalypt or beige.
