The City of Swan has received an application to amend DA-292/2025 to include the construction of a ‘Motor Vehicle Repair’ workshop and associated ‘Office’ component at Lot 50 (No.326) Great Eastern Highway, Midland.

The proposed workshop and office facility is intended to support existing operations at the site and will not serve as an expansion of business operations. There is no modification proposed to the existing approved caretakers dwelling on-site.

Key aspects of this amendment proposal include the additions as follows:

  • Four (4) Service bays with car hoists and jacks as required;
  • One (1) Garage roller door
  • One (1) 900mm Exit door
  • 2-storey office component
  • 21 Car Bays.

According to the applicant’s Traffic Impact Statement, this development is estimated to generate an additional 35 trips per day, with 10 and 14 trips generated in a typical weekday AM and PM peak period respectively.

The applicant has submitted an acoustic assessment which indicates that the noise levels associated with the proposed development will comply with the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 at all times provided:

1. The proposed car parking area is not to be used prior to 7am in the morning or after 7pm in the evenings.

2. Rattle guns are not to be used prior to 7am with the workshop doors open (or after 10pm).
