The City has received an application for a home business at Lot 115 (No. 104) Starflower Road, Henley Brook. The land use is ‘D’ discretionary within the ‘Residential’ zone and requires planning approval.

The site received planning approval to operate as an ‘Educational Establishment’ in 2024 with a maximum of 30 students including ancillary development and car parking. Due to various reasons, the landowner is seeking approval for a smaller scale facility to offer cultural and religious classes for home schooled students as a home business over the subject site.

Details of the proposal are as follows:

  • Classes will be taught within the existing residence and will be taught by the resident of the dwelling
  • Classes will have up to a maximum of 10 students
  • The premises will operate seven (7) days a week:
    • Operating hours between 7am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday
    • Operating hours between 7am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday
  • Up to five (5) sessions a day with breaks in between
  • The premises will provide services for school aged children (ages 8 to 16) on weekdays and weekend mornings, and adult classes during the weekend afternoons
  • 8 parking bays are provided on site, with sufficient space available should overflow parking be required.

Submissions ending: 4 June 2025.
