The City has received an application for Proposed Car Wash Development at Lot 12 (No.52) James Street, Guildford.
The land is zoned ‘Urban’ under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and ‘Light Industrial’ under the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.17. The land is within the South-East Precinct of the Guildford Historic Town and is non-residential typology area.
‘Motor Vehicle Wash’ is considered a ‘P’ use within the ‘Light Industrial’ zone which means that this use is permitted by the Scheme provided the use complies with the relevant development standards and the requirements of the Scheme.

The details of this application comprise the following:

- 2 x Manual Car Wash bays
- The operation of this car wash will include dedicated ingress and egress points from Waylen Street.
- The peak hour trip generation associated with this development is proposed to be 76 vehicle movements, that being 38 cars in and 38 cars out.
