The City has received a development application for a proposed carport to be located on Lot 201 (No.20) Kingston Place, Midland.


Variations have been identified in relation to the deemed-to-comply requirements of the Residential Design Codes as follows:


5.2.1 – Setback of Carports and Garages.

  • A 2.1-metre setback is proposed from the street boundary instead of the 4- metre requirement.


5.1.3 Lot Boundary Setbacks

  • The proposal will be set back 0.5 metres from the southern lot boundary, in variation to the required 1 metre.


The City is therefore conducting alternative merit-based assessments against the design principles due to the above variations and is seeking feedback from affected landowners.
