The City of Swan has received an application for a proposed extension to an existing non-conforming land use being ‘Aged Persons Units’ with 12 additional dwellings proposed at Lot 5 (No.13) Elvire Street, Viveash.
The lot is zoned ‘Urban’ under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and ‘Special Use Zone 26’ under the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme No.17. The intent of the Special Use Zone is “to provide for the coordinated development of a future retirement village estate that incorporates both Independent Living Units in addition to Low and High Care Accommodation”.
Details of the proposal are as follows:
- 12 additional single-storey units;
- 16 additional car bays;
- Construction of additional bin stores;
- Minor demolition works; and
- Proposed landscaping and footpath works.
In accordance with the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.17, advertising is required as the proposal is an extension to a non-conforming land use.
