The City has received a planning application for a garage and second storey addition at Moulton’s House, Lot 126 (No. 27) Meadow Street,GUILDFORD.

The lot is zoned Urban under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and Residential with a density code of R5 under the City’s Local Planning Scheme No.17.

No. 27 Meadow Street is considered to be a Contributory Place, and is listed as Category 1 in the City’s Local Heritage Survey, and therefore of relative importance to the heritage characteristics of the Guildford Historic Township.

The proposal consists of the following particulars:

  • Partial demolition of non-contributory aspets of a Category 1 dwelling.
  • Construct two-storey timber and masonry addition to dwelling, including a single storey garage, partially visible from the public realm.

The materials proposed in this addition include:

  • Red face brick
  • Red face brick, painted white
  • James Hardie Linea weatherboard
  • Timber cladding
  • Zincalume roof sheeting
  • Surfmist sectional garage door

The additons will be considered against policy statement 8.3 Alterations and Additions of the Guildford Mandoon Heritage Area Policy.

Prior to the determination of application, the City wishes to provide you the opportunity to comment.
