The City of Swan is home to more than 12,000 businesses across 20 industry sectors, contributing more than $11.3 billion to the regions economy in 2022.

There's more than 78,000 jobs available to residents and those who travel to the City. By 2031, the City’s population is estimated to grow by a further 30 per cent, with 47,266 new residents – taking the City’s population to 205,696.

.Thriving businesses contribute to a stronger City of Swan because residents :

  • Are residents are less likely to leave the area, all day every day.
  • There are more goods and services available, so residents don’t have to travel far to get what they need.
  • Businesses contribute to more hustle and bustle on the streets, and people attract people.
  • Financially stable businessescan support and sponsor local organisations, making them more connected to the community.
  • Businesses make major contributions to rates revenue and supplement residential rates which helps the budget's bottom line.

This framework will guide City staff in the best way to get in touch with the different types of businesses and outlinehow businesses can expect to hear from us.
