The City of Swan is proposing to install traffic signals at the intersection of Beechboro Road North and Amazon Drive as a road safety initiative project to:
- improve safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians; and
- provide better access to and from Amazon Drive
We understand that these changes impact nearby residents and businesses and welcome feedback on the proposed changes. Feedback from this engagement will inform further planning and ensure the proposed upgrades consider the needs of those who reside in the area and/or use the intersection regularly.

Project Background
There have been 11 crashes reported in Main Roads WA (MRWA) crash records at this intersection between 2020 and 2024, including 6 severe crashes.
The section of Beechboro Road North between Orchid Avenue and Benara Road does not currently have any intersection controls which has encouraged speeding and made it difficult and unsafe for people to turn from and/or onto Beechboro Road North from side streets.
The construction of Ballajura Train Station has increased traffic along Beechboro Road North and future developments to the north of Beechboro are expected to increase traffic further.
