Allington Park was initially designed as a compensating basin, intended to retain water temporarily - typically for a few days following rainfall events.
This project focuses on improving the park by planting trees, shrubs, and ground covers, along with installing mulch and landscaping in the park's compensation basin area. Please refer to the plan, which shows the extent of the proposed works.
The drainage basin improvements complete include the tree planting, kerbing, earthworks, and rock pitching around the bubble pits. Due to wet conditions, the final touches on the mulching have been delayed, but are expected to be complete by 8th of November 2024.
Looking ahead, we will complete all 22,000 shrubs and ground covers planted by June 2025.

RE: Notification of Works – Improvement Works at Allington Park, Ballajura
The City of Swan advises that it will shortly commence improvement works at Allington Park in Ballajura.
The scope of this project includes installing mulch, tree plantings, and landscaping in the park's compensation basin area.
To accommodate the works and to ensure the safety of the Construction staff and the general public, the area will be fenced off for the duration of the works.
